Broad Bean
Called in Japanese the ‘sky bean’, because its pods grow up towards the sky, and also the ‘silkworm bean’, because it is eaten in summer when silkworms are put to work, and the pods have a similar shape. Principally sourced from Kagoshima, Chiba, and Ibaraki prefectures.
